Artist Statement
It is fair to say that every artist has a chief fascination, a subject or matter that they will forever be awed by. I believe there is no better candidate to be captivated by then the most complex structure in the known universe- the human being. My artworks are primarily influenced by persons I have met; what they think, feel, how they express themselves and how they communicate. But also by the ones I have not met; the strangers who will always hold an alluring sense of mystery. Through my work, I attempt mirror my fascination. To foreground this I pay attention to detail; playing with intricate pattern-work and an array of colour and media, resulting in both exciting and sometimes mystifying creations that may leave you asking…”But what’s it about?”.My concepts do vary and become far more specific, though you can be sure that until I find a subject more enthralling, my art will always revolve around the emotional and physical being.
